Yard Sale Bargains

Sunday, July 31, 2011

Yesterday was the town wide yard sale day in St George.  I put some things out for sale and Natasha came over to sell some of her items.  The weather was fantastic and the crowds came out.  Yes, we both got rid of tons of stuff but we also decided to brush the dust off of one item and use it.  I had a few of our old bikes out for sale and Natasha decided she wanted one.  We made a deal that she could have a bike if she would ride bikes with me.  I haven't ridden a bike in years and thought it would be so much fun.  What a Great Bargain!
Or was it?????
Today, we decided to go for a bike ride. I asked J.J. if I could use his bike and got the o.k.  We needed to buy helmets but no time for that so I used an old one in the garage and Natasha is wearing her daughter's Hanna Montanna helmet.  Too funny!
But wait, we need water bottles and a place to put our phones in case we need them.  Finally ready to ride.
We take off with our husbands shaking their heads and prepared to rescue us.
We leave confidant that we can have a nice long ride........
One house, two houses, three houses, Four and ride no more??????

Natasha's back tire is bulging out of the rim like a very warped balloon and it's deflating.  We are laughing hysterically and can't believe that we are only 4 houses from home.  We could walk the bikes back home but instead I call Irv to say help in between huge chuckles and this is a picture I snapped of Natasha phoning Larry to say "bike ride over, come and get me"
I said, "you thought this bike was a bargain yesterday!"  lol
We actually did walk the bike back home and Irv was able to fix it so that we could ride off into the sunset.
That sounds like a good ending but actually we went for a ride but soon discovered that we can't ride far from my house because there are hills everywhere in St George.  We both can ride perfect circles and figure eights but uphill will wait for tomorrow.
Check here tomorrow night for pictures of this month's card class.

  2. Hey Denise...You forgot to give mention to that skid mark I left as our ride was coming to an end!!!! Nice photography...didn't even need photoshop to make it look authentic! Oh yah, the "free bike" bargain just keeps getting sweeter...during tune up this morning, Mr. Mechanic Larry said "the gears are busted!" No wonder I had to walk it up the hills. lol. When does Tour de France Part Two begin?
