Gift of Organization

How lucky am I? I got this lovely gift of this greeting card organizer.
My sister in law/best friend made it for me with Very Vanilla card stock and featuring stamps from The Nicest Things Stamp set.
The idea is that I will keep a list of cards that I need to send out filed by the month. I have started making the cards to keep me organized.
I am looking forward to getting organized and sending cards in the mail.
Stop laughing. Have you picked yourself up off the floor? I admit that I may be dreaming and I definately don't recommend you hold your breath.
However, Diane must think I can do it so I'm going to try not to let her down.

Winter Fun

I hate driving in snow but playing in it is fun. My nephew, Kevin loves outdoor sports. The Donald's are not very athletic so it was particularly funny when Kevin asked Uncle Irv if he would like to borrow his snowboard.
Irv responded very quickly with, "No thanks, I have my own snowboard."
As you can see in the picture, Irv cut a snowboard out of cardboard, wrapped it with two elastic bands (boot holders) and was very proud to announce to Kevin that he had a sponsor, Diet Pepsi. I think this is just so funny.
The 2 page 12 x 12 layout is made with Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper,
Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White and Real Red Cardstock.
The lettering is done with Varsity Alphabet.
The snowman is from Snow Much Fun. It was so easy to cut the photos with the Bigz Clear Circle Die.
There is still room on the layout for me to add the journaling about Uncle Irv's snowboard. Of course, I need it in his words as he describes his board with pride.

Playing with MDS

This is a really quick card I made using My Digital Studio tonight.
I'm looking forward to February as Stampin' Up! is going to allow you to download and try My Digital Studio for FREE for one month. I have been trained on the program but I haven't created much with it. In February I plan to have an evening where you can bring your laptop to my house and I will show you how to create some cute projects using MDS.

Scrapbooking the Day Away!

Oh what a wonderful day!! I love scrapbooking and these little albums are so much fun. My dear friend, Christine Kokiw taught these as a Christmas album at craftD Christmas back in October. Today we made wedding and baby albums. Here is a picture of the cover of Kareen's Wedding album.
I can't wait to see these albums with photos and then I will share the contents on this blog.
The night was flying by and then as we were cleaning up it came to my attention that I did not pick a winner for leaving comments on my blog.
Now, I must say that I love it when people leave comments and I appreciate you taking the time to do so. In my book you are all winners.
However, there is only one prize. I asked Kareen to do the honours.
Here are the eligible entries. Only 6 entries so your odds are real good.
Drum roll, Please.

And the winner is.....
You won't believe this......

Kareen picked Mom which is cool since Mom is not here during Sale a Bration.
Look what you won, Mom.
Come and get it.

Stampin' Fun

As you can see I worked hard today. I started my day by attending Natasha's Open Studio. The plan was to complete our make 'n' takes from leadership to use as samples in our classes.
There was lots of laughs and a little creating. I almost finished one card. It's a good thing Natasha has an Open Studio every Wednesday morning because it may take me the next 6 months to complete my make 'n' takes. Join us next Wednesday at 9am to 11am.
In the afternoon I went to visit my talented sister in law/best friend.
We worked on the mini albums that I am teaching at my house on Friday.
They are looking goood.
Diane also shared this gorgeous card that she made for a very special lady.
I just love spinning the flower which is made from the Triple Treat Flower stamp. Don't you just love how you open the card and it stands up by itself. Very Cool!!!!
Thanks ladies for a fabulous day. There are very few jobs where you get to spend the day with your friends. I'm very blessed.

Isn't this card yummy? The ice cream cone is from the Mouthwatering stamp set. It is coloured with Calypso Coral and Soft Suede Markers, popped up with dimensionals and stamped on a Framelit Die from the Labels Collection. The cherry is punched out from Red Glimmer paper using the Owl Builder Punch and the cute border is made with Sweet Shop Specialty Designer Series Paper, Adorning Accents Edgelits Die, and Pear Pizzazz 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon. The background is Soft Suede cardstock embossed with the Stripes embossing folder. A couple of finishing touches was sponging the edges of the Whisper White cardstock and border with Calypso Coral ink and using Dazzling Details on the ice cream.
I used a sketch for inspiration from Krista Driessen of Cards & Things challenges.
Have some fun and see what you can do with this sketch.

Every year Stampin' Up! chooses a theme for the year.
This year is is "MY WAY"
The idea behind the theme is that you can run your Stampin' Up! business any way you like as long as it does not violate the terms of the Stampin' Up! agreement.
Tonight there was a little mixup and I got caught in my pyjamas.
So teaching in my pyjamas is definately doing it "MY WAY"
Thanks Donna, Darlene, Margarette and Roberta. It was a fun night.
Next time you can wear your pyjamas too!!!

Home, Sweet Home

This was my last day in San Antonio, Texas. I will miss the friendly people and the warm weather. This is one final look from our balcony.
It's early in the morning so it is still dark.
The next photo is of Natasha and I on the plane.
We are so exhausted. Even craftDbear is exhausted as you can see in this photo.
Of course the real highlight of the day was picking Natasha's new puppy up on the way home from the airport.
Oh, and the best part of my day was having dinner with Irv and the boys at East Side Marios. It is so good to be home.

Regionals and Heading Home

Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered in a draw to win a prize. Please see yesterday's post for details.
I wish I could tell you all ever detail of every day. These days really are jam packed with fun and learning.
We started off the day with Shelli talking to us about Stampin' Up! and relationships. I understand completely because Stampin' Up! has become party of my family. I took over 900 picture of that family today and I want to share a few of them with you.
This is a picture that was actually taken last night of a dinner we had with some Stampin' Up! friends. At convention last year I got to meet one of the top demonstrators in Canada, Maggie Patterson and she has been so lovely and kind. She organized a dinner on the river walk and everyone was welcome. There were several tables of us. This is just a small portion of the group. Again just one big family!

I am very proud to sell Stampin' Up! and I feel that Shelli Gardener the co-founder of the company always makes everyone feel so important and she just feels like a friend. This is a picture of Natasha and I with Shelli today. It was taken in the make 'n' take room. Shelli is available and approachable at every event. You can talk with her, ask her questions and have your photo taken with her. I always love to see her outfits and maybe someday I will get to go clothes shopping with her. Now that would be fun!

My husband and I met Pam Morgan and her husband on the Alaskan cruise.
She is the vice-president of employee and demonstrator development.
That's a big title but really she is just a great friend to me and is always so welcoming. She always greets me with a warm hello and always asks how Irv is. She is part of my Stampin' Up! family and here is a picture of us in the make 'n' take room today.

I want to share with you a cute card that won a contest today. I didn't catch the ladies name who created it. So, if you know please leave me a comment. Sometimes I actually don't like a stamp set. Yes, it's true. At least I think it is and then someone does something with that stamp set and I love that stamp set.
I thought I hated the moustache stamp set until......
Isn't that the cutest card. On the inside it says, "Will you be my Valentine?" I love that stamp set now. Totally awesome card.
So when you go to these events you see so many great ideas. Again, I was so impressed with what I was seeing that I totally forgot to ask this lady her name. Look what she did with Stampin' Up! buttons and fabric.
Now I have to tell you a little secret. Are you listening? I have been doing more partying and crafting than sleeping. Usually at classes I have my ipad in my lap taking notes and my camera at the ready for pictures but today I was not quite focused and someone used my camera to capture the moment.
This is why it's good to have those Stampin' Up! family members that can take notes for you and catch you up on what you might have missed.
This is it. This is the final picture of the night. Jamilla, Natasha and I and good night drinks and some great discussion of the days events.
Good night all and I will blog from home in Canada tomorrow night. Fingers crossed we catch our flights.

Last day of Leadership & WIN a Prize

It's easy to wake up at 6am when you get to attend Leadership convention.
I can try to tell you how inspiring, motivating, exciting, entertaining, and energizing this convention is BUT YOU really have to experience it to believe it.

This is just one of the many displays that are up. Not only do I want to make every project I see but I also love the unique ways some of the samples are displayed.
Over the past few days I have seen so many examples of generosity and friendship. Being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator really means being part of a big family. Everyone makes you feel welcome and loved.
The last thing that Stampin' Up! did today was PRIZE PATROL. BELOW is a picture of the stamp set and paper that I won and I am going to give it away to one of my lucky blog readers.
I will have a draw on Tuesday, January 24th. To receive an entry in the draw, please leave a comment on my blog by Monday, January 23rd.
Do you want extra entries into the draw????
Send a friend to my blog and tell them to leave a comment and say who sent them.

Leadership Day 2 & 3

I wish you all could have been here to see all the beautiful cards and projects I got to see today. We also got to hear some fabulous upcoming changes with Stampin' Up! They are all good and exciting.
I took so many pictures today that I actually drained the battery in my camera. O.K. I'm sure you want me to stop talking and start showing you pictures. I will but first I need to finish telling you about yesterday.
I left off at the make N takes. I always have good intentions of finishing my make 'n' takes at events but I do love to chat and catch up with friends.
Speaking of chatting with friends. A highlight of my day today was meeting Dawn Rapsas of ustampwithdawnandfriends.com She holds online Stampin' events that I love to participate in. Dawn was so lovely and we had a great time working (chatting) on our make 'n' takes.
The setting for this year's leadership is set around this gorgeous river. You can walk along it or take a boat tour. It's absolutely beautiful and I would love to share it with Irv. It is actually a very romantic setting. This photo was taken by Jamilla and the three of us were on our way for a lovely lunch on the river.
This is the first year that I qualified to attend the Manager's reception.
Jamilla and I attended this event together and enjoyed a lovely evening.
One of my favourite activities at Stampin' Up! events is swapping. These are some of the cards that Diane (my sister in law/best friend) made to swap. Be sure to attend one of my upcoming classes to see all the lovely swaps (cards) that I got in exchange for these cards.
This is a card that we saw in the General Session today. It is made with the postage stamp punch.
Natasha has been busy swapping and having a blast.
It's time for some sleep but I leave you with a card that we saw today.
I believe in this sentiment. I set lofty goals with my Stampin' Up business and because I dare to dream my dreams come true. If I didn't allow myself to dream then I probably wouldn't be a Rising Star.
Thank you all so much for helping my Dreams come true!!!!
Good night all and a special good night to my hubby and children who I didn't get a chance to talk to today. Love you and miss you!!!!
