A little challenge

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

The long weekend was very relaxing for me.  Maybe a little too relaxing.
It has taken me a while to get back to routine again.
For a little boost I participated in a sketch challenge today.
Here was the sketch.
This is what I created:
Do you like the For you stamp and the label.  It's from a new stamp set called
Layered Labels and it has matching Framlits to use in the Big Shot to
cut them out.  They are called the Apothecary Accents Framelits.
The Designer Series Paper is called International Bazaar.
The ribbon is 1/4" stitched Grosgrain.
All of these items can be ordered on June 1st.

See you at my Catalogue Launch Party on Monday, June 4th at the Paris Fairgrounds
Drop in any time between 1pm and 9pm.

Stampin' With Family

Mom, (left) Aunt Ray, (right) and Kareen came over for card class today.

One of my favourite things about teaching a class is seeing the reactions when people
realize just how easy it is to make cards and yet how gorgeous they are.

Check out the expressions on Mom and Aunt Ray's face.  I wish I had the camera
ready at all times to capture their fantastic expressions today.

After card class Diane and Terry came over.  Irv, David and J.J. bbq'd us a lovely
dinner and then we all just played with stamps, inks and papers.

These are a couple of the fabulous creations that Mom and Aunt Ray made.

I can't show you what Kareen made because it is for our shoe box swap next Friday.
It's fabulous!
It was a lovely creative, family evening filled with love and laughter.

Shade-y Night

Imagine holding a party and making these adorable lamp shades for you battery operated candles.

They are so quick and easy.  It's the perfect decoration for the last minute decorations.

Grab just one sheet of 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper.  I used the NEW Be of Good Cheer paper.

Cut it in 1/2 so you have 2- 6x12 sheets.

Place on top of the Designer Rosette Bigz XL Die and run through the Big shot.

Fan fold both sheets back and forth.

Attach end with two piece of Sticky Strip.

Thread Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine in and out of each hole at the top and pull together and tie in a bow!

Voila!!!  A gorgeous lampshade in about 5 minutes.

I grabbed a candlestick,  stuck a battery operated candle on top and placed this lampshade on top.

For a little added glitz I sprayed with some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.

Playing with New Stuff

After class tonight I decided to play with some of my NEW product.
Sometimes it's so hard to crack open new product and use it.  Especially since
I can only order a limited amount until June 1st.
My fingers were crossed as I cut into my first piece of GUMBALL GREEN.
The little voice in my head was saying, "You better know what you're doing"
"Don't waste it", and "What if you need more?"
It was only a matter of seconds before I silenced that voice in my head.  I began
ripping plastic wrap off of product, (o.k. I had to use scissors for the child proof
plastic wrap on this ink pad, lol) whipping out my Big Shot and stamping away
with a fever.
These new colours are bright and vibrant and I love them.

These are the supplies used on this card:
Gumball Green card stock and marker and sponge dauber (Yummy)
Primrose Petals card stock and marker
Raspberry Ripple card stock and marker
Whisper White card stock
Fancy Fan Embossing Folder
World Treasures Stamp Set
Summer Starfruit marker.- used on the centre of the flowers and you can just see
a hint of the colour behind the pearls and it looks sweet!
Dazzling Diamonds Glitter ( Gotta Glam it up!)
Gumball Green 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon (I need this in every colour)
Dahlia Adornment (So cute!)
Rhinestones Basic Jewels
Pearl Basic Jewels
Dimensionals, Tombo Multipurpose Adhesive, Glue Dots and of course,

The new catalogues should arrive any day.  Please call or email me to reserve
your copy.  I will be placing an order on June 1st so let me know what new
items you would like to order.  I'm off to edit my wish list to add MORE
quantity.  After all I love it all!

Sweet Mother's Day

At Saturday's crop my Mom was telling everyone that I never make her a card.
Well, the pressure was on.  I got up early this morning to make her a card.

We had a lovely day together.  We started off with cards and coffee.
Then J.J. asked us to come out on the porch.  We were delighted with the
hanging baskets for Grandma and the gorgeous planter for me!!!
J.J. you have great taste.
Then we headed to Sherway Gardens for shopping and to have breakfast with my brother Paul.
We ate at the Pickle Barrel.  Very Yummy.
We shopped for the entire afternoon and then Irv, David and J.J. took us out for Red Lobster.
Laryssa doesn't like seafood so we will go out with her another day.  She doesn't even like
the smell of it.
Then we came home for coffee on the deck.  I absolutely love my coffee on the deck or porch.
There is nothing like it.
Thanks Mom!!!!  You are the best Mom in the whole world.

Love & Sympathy

Saturday, May 12, 2012

Yes, it's the day before Mother's Day.  So you would think that we would have made a Mother's Day card today at the crop.  I guess this was my way of sending love and sympathy to my Mom that
she has had to put up with me.  lol
Actually, my friend Grace was looking at the new catalogue and she spotted this card on page 55.
We decided to make this card.
We used Naturals White card stock which has become a favourite of mine lately.
Just one stamp set was required to make this card.  Love & Sympathy stamp set.
Card stock:  Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Naturals White, Wild Wasabi
Ink:  Early Espresso
Markers:  Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze and the NEW Midnight Muse
We also used the NEW fancy fan embossing folder.
The ideas and samples  in the NEW catalogue are fantastic.
It's really fun to pick out a card from the catalogue and then make it.
After all everything looks so much better  after you have added your love while creating it.
Now I just have to make another one and change the sentiment to Happy Mother's Day!!!

Cupcakes and Crops

These are just so cute!!!!!!
This is a cupcake box that everyone attending my crop today will receive.
I got the pattern for this from Susan Yeager and of course my fabulous friend Diane made them for us.
Honestly, you have to see these in person.  If I didn't already own the Simply Scored and the
Blossom Petals punch then they would be an absolute MUST HAVE.

I hold crops/crafting days once a month.  I serve you lunch and dinner so that you can work on
whatever crafts you are working on for 12 hours.  You get 6 feet of personal workspace and there
is always a little treat like this cupcake box waiting for you when you arrive.
There are snacks and refreshments and a make and take.  There are prizes too!!!!
Sign up for one of my crafting days and you will have tons of fun.

By the way this is 5 days in a row for blogging.  I'm on a roll.  Woohoo!!!!!

Catalogues are on the way.

Stampin' Up! has shipped the new catalogues to me.  Woohoo!!!!!!  Aren't you excited to get your copy.
My Catalogue Launch Party is going to be on Monday, June 4th.
I have 3 boxes of retired product that is priced and ready to go to a new home.
Of course I will have some fabulous friends working my retired table.  I don't dare go near it or all the boxes will come back home with me.
I finally managed to get a little update out to my customers and one to my fabulous team.
I also had a chance to play a little too.  This card is a little take on two cards that I got at the swap
the other night.  I took a little from one card and a little from another and this is what I came up with.
Have a craftD day and remember crafts forever, housework whenever!!!!!

3 Days in a Row

Woohoo!  I'm back on track with my blog.
This is my 3rd consecutive day for blogging.   I was looking back through some of my old posts and I love seeing what a fun year I have been having.
Now, I know you are all looking for a newsletter.
The good news is, that it is complete.  It's a 3 page update on my upcoming classes.
The bad news is that I have to find a way to send it.  I sent a test one to Irv and no luck.  It is too big a file.
Then I condensed it and sent it.  When I did that it messed up all my pretty formatting.
Here is one of the  things in my newsletter.
This Month's Card Class

Friday, May 18, from 1-3pm
Come out and enjoy making 3 very pretty cards.
All supplies are provided so just bring yourself and enjoy creating.

Here is one of my favourite pictures from Disney.  Gorgeous topiaries.

Swapping Here, There and Everywhere.

One of my favourite activities is swapping cards.  I get so many ideas and inspiration from the creativity of others.
Today I was participating in a Masculine Card Swap.
My first thought was to use the hot air balloon set but then I was walking by one of my displays and I came across this 3 x 3 card by Nancy Bates  that I got in a swap last July.
I loved the colours that she chose and it was definitely masculine.  I thought I could take this
card and recreate it as a bigger card.
I started playing around and then I got distracted as usual.  lol
I got the mail and in it was some great "happy mail"
I have the most amazing and wonderful Business Development Coach provided by Stampin' Up!
Her name is Ashley and she sent me this card which she made.  Isn't this gorgeous?

So now I had two fabulous cards to use as my inspiration.  So here is my masculine card.
I used the Open Sea stamp set for the images and Perfectly Penned stamp set for the sentiment.
The colours are Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy.
I adhered some wavy strips from the Tasteful Trim Die and then embossed them with the
Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder in the Big Shot.
All the edges were inked with Early Espresso ink using a sponge dauber.
Thanks for all the great inspiration ladies.

Holiday Recovery

Back from holiday and trying to get back into the swing of things.  It's not easy getting back to reality.
My phone was ringing more today as more of my friends have discovered my return.
Today Stampin' Up! demonstrators were able to order the new catalogue and see it online.
I can't share it with you here but I will be carrying it with me everywhere.

This was the sign that was posted in the Hospitality Suite at the conference centre at Walt Disney World.
We are allowed to post things that are made with the product though so I'm excited to start making things.
I can tell you that there are many new stamp sets that I just have to have and I have 5 of the new ink pads so I look forward to working with these.
Here are some of the things Stampin' Up! had displayed in the hospitality suite.
So there is a little tease for tonight.
Now I must get a little sleep.  I have a new laptop thanks to Irv.  My old one died at Walt Disney World.
Now I have no excuses.  Blogging every day moving forward!

I have the new catalogue!!!

I am at Walt Disney World on the Stampin' Up! Incentive trip and I'm having a great time. I can't post any pictures sadly as my laptop is not working properly. I have so much to share and I can't wait to share it all. I come home on Friday. Woohoo!!!!
