More Birthday Fun

I was up until late last night working on this card so I must admit I slept in this
morning and missed breakfast.  I still enjoyed a lovely coffee and some yummy
oatmeal out on the porch with the fantastic view of the water.  If Irv was with
me then it would have been the perfect morning.  (See below for details of the card)

Lunch was absolutely delicious.  The dining room was so pretty with lemons
the focus.
A delicious Chicken and peppers wrap, Kettle Chips and a Heath chocolate square.
In Canada Heath bar would be like a Skor bar.
The napkin ring above was made with a shower curtain hook and glued to a plastic
lemon slice.  Isn't that cool?  Made by Jan Zimmer, owner of Memories Manor
in St. Clair, Michigan.

Dinner setting was so funky and fun.
Just imagine a bunch of ladies drinking with these straws and everyone having
a mustache.  So fun.  Laughing too hard to take photos.
For dessert there were 3 of us celebrating birthdays.  We each got birthday tiara's
and candles in our yummy ice cream in a cream puff covered in caramel syrup.
The evening brought lots of practical jokes.
A little appearance from the Ghost of Memories Manor outside the window.
So funny!!!!

Summer time Fun

The fun continues today.  I am still unpacking from convention.  Well, actually I unpacked just enough to empty one suitcase to fill it back up and leave again.
Just before leaving I put up one of the Stampin' Up! flags I got from Memento Mall.
These are the three that I have to choose from.  So when you pull up in front of the
house you will see one of these fantastic signs.

I wasn't feeling good about leaving my family again so soon after Utah.  I was slow
to get out the door.  I even considered not going for a moment but this is a weekend
where I work on my own scrapbooking for the weekend.  I didn't feel excited about
this weekend until I arrived. I am at the famous Memories Manor in St. Clair, Michigan.
The manor is a beautiful old home right on the river.
I love the water and the view is gorgeous.  I get to sit and scrapbook/make cards
in a gorgeous comfy chair, with my own 6 ft table, be fed fabulous meals while laughing
and joking with my friends.  Within minutes of arriving I was happy that I had come.
I am surrounded by creativity and friends.

Sitting across from me is the lovely Kate.
Sitting to my left is the lovely Lori.
Grace is sitting to my right.  She wants to know why it takes me so long to write my blog.
Grace says, "How long does it take to write, I'm at Memories Manor with Amazing Grace"

Tammy Davies is kitty corner to me.  She isn't feeling all that great so she didn't want her
photo taken.  She looks great but she doesn't think so.

This is my 3rd visit to the Manor.  I have been lucky enough to visit once a year in the summer.
One of the cool things is the card and planning that they put into the meals.  There is
usually a theme and the dining room where we go to eat is beautiful.
These are pictures of our bedtime snack.
Watermelon, Cucumber, feta, mint and balsamic vinegar.

3 Cheers for Canada at the Olympics.  Go Canada Go!

Birthday Fun

Thank you to everyone for all the birthday greetings.  I had such a great day.
My day started off with a little shopping, the theatre in Port Dover and Lunch with my Mom.
As pictured above, we went to Red Lobster for dinner.
From Left to right:  Irv (Darling Hubby), My Mom, Devin, Laryssa, David, Myself and J.J.

I got gorgeous flowers and chocolates and check out this shirt Mom made me to wear at our
retreat at Elmhurst in October.
After dinner we headed to my brother Terry's home for some yummy dessert.
Left to Right:  Mom, Karen, Diane, David, Terry, Kevin, Myself
Laura and Irv are getting the cake ready.
We moved into the dining room/ The Paris Stampin' Up! Studio for cake and coffee.
Thank you to everyone for making my day so special.

It's my Birthday

I may get wiser with each day but we all know that I am Focus Challenged.
I love everything and I want to take everything in and do everything so I am
easily distracted.  This sign an convention actually says Focus Group and the
arrow was below to point to a room ahead.  The arrow was a magnet and I
just couldn't resist covering up the GRO.  You can probably imagine the
loud laughter from everyone as I posed for the photo.  I promise I put the arrow
back where it belonged.

Today is my birthday and I'm looking forward to going to the theatre with my
Mom and then dinner and dessert with my family.

Dreams Do Come True

I made it to Founder's Circle.  I am so incredibly blessed and fortunate.
Founder's Circle is a special reward that Stampin' Up! awards it's top
demonstrators.
I was shocked and thrilled to learn that I earned this award.  Of course
I didn't earn it alone.  My entire family gives so much of their time and
energy and love to help my business grow.  Irv, my sweet, generous
husband helps me in behind the scenes, printing and photocopying,
designing newsletters, taking photos and pretty much doing whatever
needs to get done.  He has eaten a lot of take out and so have my
strong boys who help carry boxes up the stairs and then down the stairs.
In the house and out of the house.  Thank you David and J.J.
Laryssa helps spread the word that "My Mom can show you how to make
that card" or " My Mom will make that for you".  Love you sweetie.

Behind the scenes working side by side with me almost every day of the week
is my best friend and sister in law, Diane Blumenstock.  Many of you know
her well.  She is so talented and creative.  She doesn't think so but we all
know the truth.   My brother Terry has given up a good portion of his house
as Diane carries Stampin' Up! boxes in and out of her house.  My nieces
Karen and Laura are always lending a helping hand.
This convention for example Karen, Laura, Diane, My Mom, Grandma Kareen,
and probably anyone else who "stopped in for a visit" were put to work
making over 400 flowers for swap cards.
My niece Karen and even my nephew Kevin have helped design cards and 3D
items that are absolutely fabulous.
So my family all works hard to create fabulous projects and crafts that bring joy
to others.  It is the best job ever.

I wouldn't have made it to Founder's Circle without the hard work and dedication
of my fantastic team of demonstrators/friends.
Many of you know that Natasha Byrne and I work together on many events.
I am very honoured and so grateful that we are co workers but more than that we
have a great, fun friendship.
Natasha works 7 days a week, nearly 24 hours a day building her Stampin' Up!
business.  In only her 1st full year of being a demonstrator she earned an incentive
trip to Hilton Head.  This is a huge achievement and there is no one that deserves
it more.  Yeah, Baby!!!!!!!!  You are awesome.
I also can't forget about Jamilla Ivits.  My upline and friend.  Another lady
who works hard at her Stampin' Up! business and is always available to
lend a hand and advise me.  Jamilla also earned the Hilton Head vacation.
Well awards night was pretty phenomenal and it's going to be pretty hard
to come down off of the ceiling.
Thanks to all my friends and family for supporting my business.  I couldn't
have earned the Fiji trip without you.
It has always been one of Irv's life goals to see Fiji.  In May 2013 we will
be going on the Stampin' Up! incentive trip to Fiji.
DREAMS DO COME TRUE
After the awards there was a little party.  Natasha, Margie and I enjoyed
having photos taken on the red carpet and dancing and music and some
yummy treats.

A message from Taz

Yes, I feel like the Tazmanian Devil just a whizzing from activity to activity here at Stampin' Up! Convention 2012.
I'm running on about 2 hours of sleep each day.  I'm not complaining.  Quite the opposite.
I love every single minute and I need to do some pre convention training next year so I don't need those two hours.
I don't even know where to start to blog today as there is so much to tell you.  It will take days
to cover everything.
A few highlights today:
Arriving at the Riverton Campus for a tour.  This is where Stampin' Up! packages
our products and ships.  It is also the offices of all the fantastic Stampin' Up!
Demonstrator Support.
I have tons to show you but......
I just got the 10 minute warning again......
Thank God for Margie keeping me on track.
I have a swap in 20 minutes and I'm not dressed.
So ..... Taz out
I gotta run but I will be back.......lol
I love every second of this......

Not enough Hours in the Day

O.k.  I'm late blogging again.  You can tell that events began yesterday.
At 8 am and yes it's beginning again now.   I just got the "Denise, do you know
it's 7:45.  lol
I'm lying in bed in my pyjamas and everyone is ready to go.
Gotta run but I will blog later today.  I promise.
I will leave you with a couple of photos before I get yelled at again.
Love the button bracelets
I need to learn how to make this flower.  Pretty adorable.  On a top note box.

Gotta run.  Bye for now

Always dress your best!

Sunday, July 15, 2012
Another day here in Salt Lake City, Utah.  We started off the day slowly in our pyjamas
working on our swaps again.  We have a beautiful view of the mountains from our room.
Then we got dressed and went for a walk to the mall.
Natasha took this picture of me walking to the mall.  I'm wearing my Disney
jacket and my Disney bad pack.  I love this back pack for traveling.  It's light
and has lots of space.
The mall is called the Gateway and is only a 10 minute walk from our hotel.
It's a beautiful outdoor mall with a water play area in the middle and a recording
of the Mormon tabernacle choir playing.  It was very serene and lovely.

Of course you should always dress your best as you never know who you will run into.
We were in a clothing store and we turned around and guess who it was.....

American Idol contestant Deandre Brackensick
I am a huge fan.  Irv, J.J. and I watched American Idol faithfully.  I thought
Deandre should have gone further but he was top 8.

Shopping with Deandre was Jessica Sanchez.  She was the runner up on American Idol.
They were so nice.  Down to earth and posed with us for photos.
I asked if they usually get time to shop before a concert.  They said no, not usually.
Then it was back to the hotel to drop off our parcels.
Our room looks more like a bachelor pad then a room with 3 ladies in it.
The whole room looks like a bomb went off.  Except the fridge.  It's filled with
goodness.
Tomorrow morning events begin at 8am.  So I'm off to get some shut eye.

Hello, from Utah!

A great big hello from Salt Lake City, Utah.  I am visiting Utah where the annual Stampin' Up! convention is held.  The last few days were a whirlwind of finishing up classes, delivering orders,
doing laundry, making swaps, shopping for "business casual clothes" and taking care of my
poor hubby who had some heavy duty dental surgery.  Now I am looking forward to the
upcoming events and all the new ideas so many fabulous ladies will share.

We aimed to leave at 8 a.m.  I am working on being more organized and not always late.
I am very proud to say that I was ready at 8 a.m.  I was surprised myself that I was
ready but I really was.
This is a picture of the clock in the car to prove that we were on the road just shortly after
8a.m.

I am traveling with my good friend and Stampin' Up! Counselor Natasha Byrne,
This is Natasha coming back to the car after a little shopping at the duty free
just before we crossed the border.

This is the back seat with my purse dumped out because I lose my keys OR
my cell phone OR my passport about every 10 minutes.  I proceed to panic,
then dump and tear through everything only to usually find them in my pocket.

As you can see by the above picture that the vehicle is fully loaded.
I was pretty sure that we were going to get pulled over at the border.  The
border agent kept asking us a million questions but he kept coming back to
the same question.  "How are you going to get all that on the plane?"
I don't pack light.   I never have.  I couldn't leave all my scrapbook things behind.
He finally let us across the border and we proceeded to Bob Evans for some lunch.
A working lunch of course.  What you can't see in this picture is the two chairs
with boxes of card making supplies pulled up to the booth.  We are still working
on our swaps and every minute counts.
Bob Evans has a fabulous deal that for $6.00 you get unlimited soup, salad and
various breads.  The manager came over and mentioned that they close at 10pm.
We laughed and said, "our plane leaves at 6 so we will be gone by then."
I guess it looked like we were moving in.

Arrived at the airport and we managed to fit everything in 3 suitcases which each
weighed 51 lbs.  2 carry on bags and 2 purses.  Whew!!!!
Now where is a wheelie cart when you need one?

On the plane.  Still making swaps and still awake.  I have only had one hour
of sleep in the last 48 hours.  For those of you wondering about my snips.
Yes, amazingly enough I am allowed to take my scissors and my paper piercer
on board.  Just not the nail clippers.  What??????  I don't get it either but I'm
very happy that I can keep crafting on the plane.  Oh, and yes, the glue is ok too.
We made it to the hotel.  It's after midnight.  Natasha is either exhausted or she
is looking for the room key.  We let the hotel clerk know that it would be more
than likely that we would lose the room keys.  The hotel is not exactly the
prettiest or largest but it will be our home away from home for a week.  I was
commenting on the hideous decor to the bellman and he informed me that it
had just been "recently renovated"    They should have hired some Stampin' Up!
demonstrators to decorate.  It is also strange that the queen size beds seem to be
the size of doubles.
We worked on some more swaps and then fell asleep.

Saturday, July 14, 2012

We arose early and we were very hungry.  We have a fridge in our room so we
wanted to go and get some groceries and some breakfast.
We took the Salt Lake City transit system called trax to the ihop.

International House of Pancakes.  I have never eaten there before.  It is
very yummy.  Then we needed to go to Best Buy as Natasha needed to get a
part for her laptop.  I can't believe I am in a Best Buy without Irv.  I usually
sit in the car while Irv goes into Best buy but Natasha and I didn't have a car
so I did a little appliance dreaming while we were in there.  This is the new
fridge I want.
Then we went to Costco for a little food shopping.  Funny, because little
and Costco don't go together.
Do you think this little guy will fit on the plane?

 I didn't think so.
So, we just got a few snacks.......
Now it's back to the hotel to work on swaps for the rest of the day.
No photos as we are in our pyjamas while we work.
We are awaiting Margie's arrival.  She is sharing our room and is
flying in today.
Check back here tomorrow for more trip details.  You can get details
on Natasha's blog too.  www.stampinenchantment.com

Crops, Socials and Weddings

Today was a very busy and exciting day.  Lots of planning went into today.
My morning started with making preparations for Friday nights team social.
Diane came over and we worked on a little gift that each person will have
at their spot when they arrive.  You will have to check back here on Saturday
for photos.  It's really cute and goes with our theme of Christmas.
Then I had to scoot out the door and go to work with Irv for the afternoon.
I usually only go into the office on Tuesday and Thursdays but I was needed
today.  I really enjoy my time with Irv so it's a pleasure.
After work, Irv and I hit every craft store, party store and any store we thought
might carry some cupcake wrappers that my daughters friend needs for her
wedding.  We carried our photo into every store but none had what we were
looking for.   With only 15 minutes before the stores were closing my mind
was thinking as hard as I could and then I thought of my cricut machine.
So after wasting all that time in stores the answer was sitting at home.
Cricut and Stampin' Up! card stock to the rescue.
It is not exactly what the bride was looking for but here are a few choices
I had for her by the end of the night (or wee hours of the morning).
Yes, it's 2 am and my daughter, the bride and groom and I are all awake.
Guess which one they chose?

Early Espresso card stock wrapped in Whisper White card stock.
Vanilla cupcake with a Buttercream icing and silver balls.
I think this one would look cool in blue as it kind of looks like waves in the ocean.
This was Irv's favourite.  Truthfully he just wanted me to stop taking pictures so he could eat the cupcake.

Without the Early Espresso behind.  Just whisper White.

Which one do you think the bride and groom chose?
