Grab it and Stuff it!

Thursday, January 30, 2014

During Sale a Bration the Twisty Treats Kit 133513 is an item you can get for FREE when you spend $60 before shipping and taxes.

Yup, FREE!

Twisty Treats Kit 133513

This is what you get in the kit.  I started filling some with candy and then I realized how quick and easy it would be to fill them with other items and make super cute hostess gifts or thinking of you gifts.
How about a Good Luck gift for someone starting a new job or a new school course.
Inside the bag I put some sticky notes, a cute container filled with paper clips, 2 pens and
a couple of binder clips.  Voila!  I added a stamp from the Occasions Alphabet 123598
and lickity split it's done.  I can't wait to give it away.
Wouldn't you love to get this little bag with some tissues, some tea and a candle wrapped
with a little wash tape of course.  I grabbed the Tangerine Tango ink pad and stamped
it with a Feel Better stamp from Sassy Salutations 126707  which is one of my favourite
and most used stamp sets.  Finished in less than 5 minutes and ready to brighten
someones day.
I love Sale A Bration.  I filled this one with some of my favourite adhesives and it's for the
next person that joins my Stampin' Up! CraftD Bears.  Joining our team is great to do anytime
of year but right now during Sale A Bration you get to choose $190 worth of products for
only $125.  I can't wait to deliver this to my newest team member!

There are 12 cellophane bags and I think I will fill all 12 with different items.  A First aid kit,
a travel kit, ……What will you fill yours with?

Hearts aren't just for Valentines Day

Saturday, January 25, 2014

Do you only use your heart stamps for Valentine's Day?  Don't forget that hearts can be used for
all different occasions.  The heart as a symbol means affection or love.
When you think of using heart do you always reach for the Real Red ink pad?

My dear friend, Tammie White made the fabulous card above for our friend Louisa for her Wedding shower.   Tammie used Louisa's wedding colours for her card.  So thoughtful and it looks terrific.
You will find more of Tammie's creations at her blog http://piecesofpaperpuppiesandlife.blogspot.ca

Tammie used these supplies:
129252 Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set
117335 Perfect Polka Dots
118481 Victoria Crochet Trim
105117 Pacific Point Card Stock
126951 Pacific Point Classic Stampin' Pad
101650 Very Vanilla Card Stock

5 Days to Sale a Bration

Thursday, January 23, 2014

The Heartfelt Banner Kit is valued at $24.95 but you can get it for FREE when you spend $60 (before s&t) beginning next Tuesday, January 28, 2014.

This banner kit includes

• 6 die-cut Designer Series Paper banners (3 each of 2 designs; largest banner: 2-1/2" x 4")
• 5 doilies (4" diam.), 9 felt balls (1")
• 9 die-cut fabric canvas banners
- 2 each of 3 designs (largest banner: 3-3/4" x 5") - 3 each of 1 design (3" x 5")
• 7 mini wooden clothespins
• 2 pieces of Natural Linen Thread (6' ea.) • 1 needle (2-1/8")

It was so much fun to make.  It was so easy to string the felt balls together.

The letters that spell SPRING is not included in the kit.  I added these using the new
Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
The supplies I used to make the Spring tags were:
133188 (w) or 133191 ©  Happy Watercolour Stamp Set
100730 Whisper White card stock
133324 Scalloped Tag Topper Punch
127553 Typeset Alphabet Bigz
129287 7/16" Trim
Colours:  Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana and Pear Pizzazz

Another cool idea that I am going to use this weekend at my Team Social is to
use the cool InStax camera's that take instant photos and add photos to the banner.

I'm sorry the picture doesn't do this banner justice.  It really is fun and pretty and exactly
what we need in this cold weather to make us feel warm.

What word or photos will you hang on your Heartfelt Banner kit?

Oscar Invitation

Thursday, January 16, 2014

I'm so excited today.  The Oscar nominations were announced this morning.  The Oscar's in this house is a family event.  Since the children were very small Irv has handed out score cards and offered a prize to the one who gets the most right.  Even if the children couldn't read they check marked a box they liked or rolled dice to pick which one they wanted or just pointed.
Then Irv lays out a snack bar of popcorn and candy and it's so much fun to see who gets the most right.

Remember it's countdown to sale a bration day on my blog today too!  What a great day.
Up until this morning I had no idea what I was going to post today.  And then as I texted my family to remind them of Oscar night I thought why not send them invitations.  Better yet how about FREE
invitations to Oscar night.

Yes.  12 big sleeps until Sale A Bration begins January 28, 2014.

One of the items you can get for FREE with a $60 purchase (before shipping & taxes) is the
GOOD AS GOLD Card Kit
Item 133512
Valued at $16.95 but you can get it for FREE

How perfect with the gold lined envelopes and the gold stretchy cord which I love.  The gold banner with the star.  I can't believe how perfect it is for the Oscars.
You get everything to create 8 beautiful cards.
I just turned one of the banners into a You're invited banner and Voila!
In minutes my invitations were ready to go and FREE.
This year I won't hear.  "No one told me the date, Mom"

Kick off to Sale A Bration

Thursday, January 9, 2014

What is Sale-A-Bration?

It is the best and biggest promotion that Stampin' Up! puts out each year.  For every $60 (before taxes and SH) you purchase you earn Sale-A-Bration product absolutely FREE.  The Sale-A-Bration products are exclusive and can only be obtained as FREE gifts through purchases.

Book your own party to be held during Sale-A-Bration or Private Class to be held during Sale-A-Bration and you will pick a FREE gift from my Hostess basket, you won't be disappointed!

Sale-A-Bration this year is from January 28 - March 31, 2014.

To kick off this Sale-A-Bration party I will be featuring one of the Sale-A-Bration items
you can get for FREE every Thursday.   So be sure to book mark this site and join me
every Thursday to Sale-a-brate!

Today's feature is called Hooray for Parties.  I made this super duper totally cute absolutely fabulous mini file folder.  Can you tell I'm excited and proud of what I made.
Why????   Because it's digital.

Now don't run away.  Listen.

I have shook my head a million times and said not me.  No Way!  I'm not a digital girl.
I only know how to turn my computer off and on.  I like the hands on.  I don't know how.
Well, guess what?  I saw this Hooray for Parties ensemble which will print out the invitations, the thank your, a garland, mini folder, treat folder, and more.

Best of all.  It's FREE during Sale-A-Bration.
So I thought I should make a garland for the upcoming CraftD Crop on January 25.  Just click, print and glue.
I can do that.
But when I printed the garland it printed a page of these cute folders.  Oh My!  My head started spinning with the ideas I could do with these little folders.

Now I was really excited.
I cut out the folder and realized that by just adding a whisper white 3 x 5 piece of card stock my first folder was finished.  Is has a little dotted line showing you where to fold it.
Now I needed to decorate it.  And the strips I was going to use to make the garland were right there and the circle was there with celebrate on it.  I just grabbed a scrap piece of calypso coral card stock and punched a 1 3/4" scallop circle.   I used 2 of the garland strips and cut them to create banners.
I grabbed my pearls and added those so now I can call the project HYBRID.  Aren't I fancy now?
Voila!

O.K. Now what was I going to put inside my mini folder.
My wish list of course.
I started creating one on my word program and then I thought……MDS
Can I do it on MDS?  My digital Studio.
YES, I CAN.
Within a few minutes I was having so much fun.
Here is my wish list.

Now this isn't my first time making something on MDS because I am a demonstrator and I have gotten a few MDS (My Digital Studio) downloads for FREE.
But this is the first time I really feel like I designed this and I can say I use MDS.

I can't wait to share this with all of you in person.
135274 Hooray for Parties FREE with a $60 order before taxes and S&H.

What would you put inside your mini folders?

CASEing

One of the things I love about paper crafting is that we are encouraged to copy and share everything.
The card above is one I created while casing the one below that was in the Stampin' Success
magazine.
The Drops of Ink are easy to do.  I used an aqua painter and filled it with rubbing alcohol and
a drop of ink refill.  It was really fun.
Both of these cards are quick and easy cards to make.

Do you like the dotted background?  On January 28, 2014 Sale a Bration begins and
you will be able to get this embossing folder for FREE with a $60 order before S&T.

Monster Hugs

These Monster Hugs Valentine Cards by Stampin' Up! are bringing me back some great childhood memories.

Yesterday, Irv and I were on another little road trip.  I had 10 minutes to grab something that I could
work on in the car.  I grabbed Monster Hugs Valentine Cards (a boy kit and a girl kit)
132162 Monster Hugs Valentine Cards, Boy
132163 Monster Hugs Valentine Cards, Girl
I grabbed some of my favourite adhesives, a pair of scissors and my markers.
I always grab my markers so I have every colour with me.

We are driving along and I open the girl package and within 2 minutes I have the first one done
and I didn't need any adhesive or scissors.  Irv looks over and says, You're done?

Just a few easy steps. I remembered as a child going to visit relatives and she would bring a colouring book and crayons for me, a deck of cards so I could build card castles, and sometimes some really
cool activity books she might find.  These Valentine kits would be the perfect thing to do with
a child or let them work on by themselves.  I could imagine myself now making these and then handing them out to all the company or being dragged to the mall but being so proud to hand these out to people.
The perfect craft because there is no scissors, no glue, and yet they are so cute!!!

Step 1  Write Name on Back

Step 2  Add Self Adhesive Eye

Step 3 Peel adhesive protector from adhesive strip

Step 4 Place chocolates onto the adhesive strip

Step 5 Connect Arms (the slits are already there)

Step 6 Place heart from the sticker sheet

You could put these monsters on cards or scrapbook pages.  You could put them on gift bags or packages.  You could put them on everyones plate for Valentines Dinner.
They are great to just have in your purse and hand out and of course perfect for children to
give to their school mates.

Here is a card that I created with a couple of monsters.

Supplies I used to make this card:
133227 (Wood) 133230 (Clear) Perfect Pennants Stamp Set (You & Me stamp)
126860 Midnight Muse Ink Pad (stamp you & me)
131297 Coastal Cabana Card Stock  5 1/2 x 8 1/2  scored at 4 1/4 and 2x2 piece
102482 Read Red Card Stock 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 (embossed with scallops)
120953 Crumb Cake Card Stock (scrap for heart above boy)
132971 Scallops Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
119850 1 3/4" Circle Punch
117193 Small Heart Punch
132162 Monster Hugs Valentine Cards Boy
132163 Monster Hugs Valentine Cards Girl
Chocolates

These Monster Hugs Kits are only available until January 27, 2014 or While Supplies Last.

Happy New Year Journal Jar

                                                               My 2014 Journal Jar

Last week on Facebook someone (I'm sorry I can't remember who) posted
this idea to have a jar where you write good things that happen to you on little
pieces of paper.
I am looking forward to a great year and now I can't believe that I'm looking forward
to Dec 31, 2014 when I open my jar  and read the quotes.
I decided to use a small jar because I might want to make a couple of different jars
over the year.
I am usually slow to wake up but the first thing Irv said this morning was just
so cute that I couldn't wait to write it down to put in my jar.

Supplies used for my jar:
A small jam jar
133001 Retro Fresh This and That Designer Washi Tape  $6.50
132999 Retro Fresh This and That Designer Stickers  $5.95
132993 Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper  $13.50
129379 Spiral Flower Originals Die  $21.95  (to make the roses on top) $21.95
120995 Silver Glass Glitter $4.95
131297 Coastal Cabana Card Stock $8.50
111349 Tangerine Tango Card Stock $8.50
126839 Summer Starfruit Card Stock $8.50
100730 Whisper White Card Stock $9.25
120906 2 1/2" Circle Punch $22.95
133324 Scalloped Tag Topper Punch $31.95
132140 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon $9.95
104199 Linen Thread $5.95

This may look like a lot of supplies but I really only used a little of each and the cool thing is
that is all coordinates with the Retro Fresh This and That Journal Book that I plan to
use as my journal this year.
It is in the new Occasions catalogue that begins Friday, January 3, 2014.

I have taken a 30 Day Journalling Challenge

This is a page from my Retro Fresh This and That Journal Book.
It is so much fun to play with the Retro Fresh collection.
The colours are Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron, Tangerine Tango and Very vanilla.
