January 31, 2016 Hooray Treat Bags

Sunday, January 31, 2016
Quick and Easy but Looks Good!
Yup, these are the kind of things I love.
Have you ever been told you procrastinate?
Or that you leave things to the last minute?
I have been told these things several times.
Well if you can relate to me than this idea is
for you.
These treat bags will take you  less than
10 minutes to make.  But it looks like it took longer.
So grab your Whisper White Card Stock, your favourite
ink colours, and some iridescent ice embossing powder.
The Hooray! from Perfect Pairings stamp set which
is FREE when you place a $60 order.
Hard to tell in the picture but they sparkle.
And coloured mini staples/stapler.
Stamp image, Heat Emboss, Cut out, and
staple to these adorable Sketched Dots Tag a Bag
Gift Bags.  10 for $5.00
Fill with candy or if it's for crafters like these
ones were....pretty ribbon and embellishments.

Make them in different colours.
These are Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo.
OR
An even quicker but still cute idea.
Add a foil heart and a gold coloured clothespin.

Voila!

Shhhh.... No one has to know that these are quick
and easy to put together.  It's our little secret.

JANUARY 23, 2016

Blog Hop Announcement

Hi Stamper!
Do you own a stamp set, that you fell in love with at first sight, but have only used
once because you couldn't figure out how else to use it?  Well no more!  It's time to
start dusting off those stamp sets and get creating.  Starting this month, a group of
my fellow demonstrators and I will be challenging ourselves to using the exact same
products to create totally different projects.  These projects will be posted to our
personal blogs on the last Saturday every month and at the end of each of our posts
you will find a link to the next person's blog.  You can then "hop" to each project
with ease.

This month's projects will include products from the Love Blossoms Suite in the
2016 Occasions Catalogue.

Want to meet my fellow demonstrators that are participating?  Check out their
blogs now.

Today's card is a Thank You card created with
Stampin' Up!'s Botanical Gardens Suite in the
Occasions 2016 Catalogue and the Circle Card
Thinnest from the 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! Catalogue.
This card swings open and is fun to open and
close to watch the flower change to thank you.
It's hard to see in the picture but the card

Jan 18, 2016 Wedding Plans

Monday, January 18, 2016
I made this little box and it fits two of the Esta
chocolates perfectly.
Or 3 of the Hershey's Nuggets
Of course the nuggets are even more special
when wrapped with a little Designer
Series Paper.

Last night our daughter invited us to dinner and
a wedding planning meeting.  Laryssa has been
engaged for over a year and now she's ready to
start planning the big event.
Attending the first meeting was Laryssa, Devin,
Devin's parents and Irv and I (Laryssa's parents).
Many topics were discussed so it is all a little
overwhelming.
Topics included Venue, Food, Colours, Themes,
Traditions, Decorations, Favours, Clothing,
Invitees, Wedding Party, Beverages,
 Transportation, Babies/Children, Money,
Gifts, and the list goes on.
There will be monthly meetings and I will
be taking this little box to next month's meeting
to see if they would like to give them out at
the bridal shower or the wedding.
This is just a sample as the colours haven't been
chosen yet.   This is a combination of
Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride.

Masculine Valentine's Card Jan 17, 2016

Sunday, January 17, 2016

To create a simple background.  Use Whisper White
Card Stock, Smokey Slate ink, and the "line" stamp
from Stampin' Up!'s Work Of Art stamp set.

I stamped My Valentine from Stampin' Up!'s Bloomin'
Love stamp set, using Real Red and Smokey Slate markers.
Then cut it out using the Circles Framelits.
Added it to a deco label frame lit cut out of Smokey Slate
card stock.  Added some Silver Satin ribbon, real red hearts
from the Work of Art Stamp Set and finished with some
Rhinestones.
Quick, Easy and Masculine.

Sharing Paper Pumpkin January 16, 2016

Saturday, January 16, 2016

Tea with friends is one of the ways I love to spend
an afternoon.  I opened the door to leave for tea
with Diane and I look down and there it was.
Paper Pumpkin was delivered.  I didn't even hear
the fedex truck or the door bell.
So exciting.  I scooped it up and took it with
me to open and share with Diane.

What do you think is inside?  That's what we wonder as
Diane carefully pulls back the pretty blue tissue
paper.  You try not to tear it but you have to.
It's January so we are guessing something to do
with Valentine's Day.   But is it cards? or boxes? or
treat bags?  What is it?

Ahhh.  It is something to do with Valentine's Day.
But it's not cards or boxes or treat bags....

It's a cool kit that makes a banner and treat pouches.
So cool..
Diane and I get to work and we are still
working on our project but we discovered
there was enough materials in the box for us
both to make a banner.  And treat pouches.
So exciting.  And so fun to share!

No Naked Envelopes Friday, January 15, 2016

Friday, January 15, 2016

Don't forget to add some paper or stamp
something pretty on your envelopes before you
mail them.
Now I have heard a few times some arguments
for not mailing cards.

#1 reason I hear for not sending cards is
 that it costs too much.

The card above with the lumpy pearls, ribbon and it's
pretty envelope was still just a standard card so
it cost me $1.00 to mail.  If I bought a book of
stamps it would have cost me .85  And if it
was slightly overweight it would have cost me
$1.20.
Now, I know some of you remember the days
when it only cost 17 cents to mail a card.  I wish
those days were back too but they aren't and it's a
shame but I think $1.00 is still a great deal.
I can't meet my friend at Tim Hortons and
buy her a coffee for $1.20.  I can't even go into
the dollar store and buy one item for less than
$1.25 plus tax these days.  But for $1.00, a little
stamp is going to take my card for me and reach
out to a friend and surprise them with a bit of
happy mail instead of a bill or an advertisement.

#2 reason I hear for not sending cards is that  the
recipient won't appreciate it.  Might even throw it out.

I have given this one some thought and here's what I think.
The recipient might not appreciate the hours of work
that you put into making your card.  And they may not
keep it.
But...I can't imagine that the recipient didn't feel good
for the few minutes it took them to open the card
and read it.  They may have even smiled.
And I'm sure you had fun making the card.
So don't worry that they didn't appreciate it or that
they didn't keep it.  Just know that you reminded
someone today that you care about them.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch,
a smile, a kind word, a listening ear,
an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Birthday Card Featuring Stampin' Up!'s It's My Party Suite

I am going to be busy making lots of Birthday Cards as
the other day on Facebook I posted this message:

Would you like a birthday card from me this year?
Leave a comment with your birth date and you'll get one.
This is a huge challenge for me as I am great at making
cards but lousy at putting them in the mail.

This card is going in the mail today.
At least that's the plan.  Just got to get to the post office.

If you want from me and you haven't replied on my
facebook page then please eave a comment below.

Mojo Love You Card Jan 13, 2016

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

Today I made a card using the sketch from Mojo
Monday's blog.
You don't have to copy the sketch exactly, it
is meant as inspiration.

The card I was inspired to make today is for
my Mom.  For years she has been a
snow bird but this year she couldn't go to
Florida.  Since our weather is so cold,
I thought some nice bright flowers might
make her forget about the snow.

Putting away your stamps Jan 11, 2016

Monday, January 11, 2015

Are you a wood mount stamp lover?
Have you ever used your stamps and then struggled
to fit them back in the container again?
It's happened to me several times.

Here is a tip for you.
When you first get your wood mount stamp set like the
one above, open it up.

Take a piece of paper and trace the blocks.
Tape that paper into the bottom of the case so
you can easily put your stamps back.
OR

Grab your In Stax camera and take a polaroid
picture after mounting your stamps.
Tape this picture in your container and you will
always know how to put your stamps back in.
Hope this tip saves you some time.
