HAPPY CANADA DAY from Port Dover!!

First Canada Day here and have had lots of fun already and it’s only noon!!!

Garage sales first. Picked up some great items for storing embellishments. Then off to the soap box derby. The turn out was fabulous!!  We were near the finish line where volunteers had to grab the carts to stop them before they hit the OPP who were blocking off the road!!

Then the boat parade in the harbour. It took about 90 minutes for all the boats to parade through.  We lucked out on a great spot for this. The boats, all decorated for Canada Day, came into the central harbour area and did a big 360 degree circle so everyone on both sides of the harbour could see them.  We couldn’t believe the crowds!!!

Here you get a good example of the decorating. There were probably about 40 boats in the parade.

Now we get back to the house to find cars parked all over our street as the parade starts a block from us.  I’ll show photos from the street parade in tomorrow’s blog.  Street parade then fireworks tonight!
