A Bright Star Has Past Away

A dear friend of mine and Irv's has passed away.  We did not know Carol very long but she was a good friend and we wish we had gotten more time to spend with her.  Carol attended the crops that I used to offer at the scout house in Port Dover.

Carol was always there with a smile and a kind word to all around her, offering suggestions and enjoying the company that comes with the crops.  She would tell tales of all her activities through Port Dover, especially her writing club.  When Irv's health declined last summer it meant I had to stop doing the crops. We missed speaking with her at the crops but she came to the house to visit with Irv and myself when Irv got out of the hospital.

Here's a photo of Carol winning the ticket drawing at the end of one of the crops.  Unfortunately we just received the news that Carol passed away about two weeks ago.  Well you know she enjoyed those crops and we never did do them for the money.  We always had the crops for social and fun times.

Carol was a well read person and she enjoyed writing as well.  Soft-spoken and great to listen to.

Our upcoming Good Friday crop is going to be dedicated to the memory of Carol.  Many of you who attended our Port Dover crops met Carol and enjoyed her company and we will all miss her.

A bright new star in heaven is watching over us above Port Dover. Thank you Carol for letting us know you for just a short time.  Please rest in peace.

Thanks for visiting today!
